School Governors

The Full Governing Body meets at least twice each term.  There are four sub-committees which each meet once or twice a term:

Finance and Premises, chaired by Edward Lethbridge;

Personnel, chaired by Carla Munoz Slaughter;

Pupil Welfare and Christian Ethos, chaired by Father Paul Bagott; 

Teaching and Learning, chaired by Sandra Smith-Gordon.

Mrs Carla Muñoz Slaughter

Carla Muñoz Slaughter received a BA from Harvard University, and then a JD from Harvard Law School before completing a Masters in Law degree at the University of Cambridge. Before entering academic life, she worked as a corporate lawyer.  After leaving practice, she lectured in law at City University and then at the University of London. Carla is currently associate professor of law at the University of Notre Dame’s London Law Programme. She also served on the parochial church council of Chelsea Old Church for several years before becoming our Chair of Governors.

Carla has two sons and two dogs.  Her hobbies and interests include food and cookery, history and cross-country skiing.

Mr Hamish Adourian

Hamish graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a BSc in computer science and physics. He then joined a financial technology firm, Sinara Consultants, where he has held both engineering and sales & marketing responsibilities, working with stock exchanges, banks, and financial institutions in the UK and abroad. Whilst at Sinara, he has also taken part in the recruitment and supervision of new graduates.

In addition to his full-time work in the IT industry, Hamish writes books for children, and visits schools to deliver reading and writing workshops. He also volunteers with the charity Young Enterprise to help school leavers with workplace and business skills.

In his spare time, his interests include history, Italian and Spanish, swimming, baking, and travelling.

Father Paul Bagott

Father Paul has been the Parish Priest at St Cuthbert Church since March 2013. Having been educated at King's School, Rochester, he studied theology and history in York, and then spent a year with the Francisans in Papua New Guinea before training to be a priest at Wescott House in Cambridge. 
He served his title at St Peter and St Paul, Chingford, was ordained Deacon in 1988 and Priest in 1989. He served a second curacy at St Saviour's and St James the Less, Pimlico, and 18 years Vicar of Our Most Holy Redeemer, Clerkenwell, and St Marks, Myddleton Square. 
He is currently Chaplain to St John Ambulance, serves on the Court of Zion College, is a Priest's Vicar at Westminster Abbey, and a Surrogate for the Diocese of London.

Ms Stephanie Barbir

Stephanie graduated from the University of Salzburg and subsequently Durham University, focusing on infrastructure policy. After working on the trading desk of an energy utility, she gained a qualification in trade journalism and edited the journal of the Swiss electricity industry. Before moving to the UK Stephanie was in charge of Public Relations on the board of Zurich YMCA (CEVI) and volunteered in a number of forest playgroups.

 She is a full-time mother and had two children at St. Cuthbert with St. Matthias Primary School.

Miss Charlotte
Close-Smith

Charlotte graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Classics.  She is currently a consultant  at Alpha Financial Markets Consulting, with experience across both strategy and project management roles,  primarily focusing on the asset management industry.  In addition to her role as a governor, Charlotte volunteers to provide Oxbridge interview support at schools with little history of sending pupils, and has previously provided after-school support for primary school pupils whose first language was not English.

Mrs Jennie Dalton

After graduating with an BA from Princeton University (Classics) I taught English in a girls’ middle school in Tokyo for two years. I then came to London and, with another four years in Japan, raised four children. I have been Mistress of the Grocers’ Company, involving a number of visits to various kinds of schools. I volunteer at the Rugby Portobello Trust homework club and I am on the Council of Christ Church Kensington and the Christ Church Community Trust. With my sons I administer an educational charitable trust to promote entrepreneurship in City Academies. I have a farm in Scotland, a dog and a grandson.

Ms Estella Gomez

I have a genuine passion for education and the local community. I have 30 years teaching experience,12 years at a senior management level and I was one of the Borough Moderators for Key Stage 1 in Hammersmith and Fulham for four years. I have been a peer mentor at Earls Court Well-Being Centre, and a member of FWA and AK UK, charity associations that fund-raise for families in the Philippines.  I have had experience as a teacher governor for eight years at St Stephen’s CE School in London.

Currently I am an active member of St Cuthbert Parochial Church Council and a co-opted voting member of the Family and Children's Services Scrutiny Committee of RBKC. I am actively involved with the PTA of St Cuthbert School.

Educated to Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

Mr Edward Lethbridge

Edward graduated from the University of Oxford, where he studied Modern History.  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen (subsequently Deloitte) before establishing a career in corporate finance, advising on the sale of private companies in the Business Services sector.   His work as a partner at Lincoln International has frequently involved advising companies serving the education sector in the UK and internationally. 

He lives and works in London, is married and has one daughter.

Ms SandrMcGregor

I am the current Chairperson of the school PTA.  I have A Levels in maths, English and history.  I worked in a nursery and pre-school for SEN children for 10 years in Jamaica and I worked as a volunteer at NCH and Women's Shelter.

I am presently working full-time at Debenhams in Oxford Street, London.

Miss Gill Putterill

Head Teacher, ex-officio Governor

The Head Teacher attends all Full Governing Body and is a member of all Committees. 

Gill qualified with a Bachelor of Education (HDE, South Africa) and spent the first years of her career teaching in South Africa. Alongside her teaching in primary schools in Cape Town, she spent some months working as a volunteer, supporting boys in an orphanage in the Langa Township, Cape Town. Shortly after moving to London, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree (UNISA). She has also had the opportunity to complete some studies with Central St Martin’s Art School (UAL) London.

Before joining St Cuthbert’s in September 2013 as Deputy Head Teacher, Gill taught at Christ Church CE School, Chelsea. In September 2014 she stepped up to the Acting Head Teacher role. In February 2016 she was appointed Head Teacher.   Her hobbies include music, art, outdoor sports and hiking.

Lady Smith-Gordon

After gaining a Bachelor of Education degree as a mature student, Sandra taught in primary education for 23 years, 16 as a Head Teacher.  She has been a school inspector, advisor and governor and was a governor and volunteer at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for a number of years.  Aside from education and her children and grandchildren, her other main interest is in drawing and painting.

Miss Holly Williamson

After graduating with a BSc in Psychology from the University of Manchester, Holly moved to London where she worked in several primary schools in Camden. In 2013 she began her role as a Learning Mentor at St Cuthbert’s Primary School and is currently completing a MSc at UCL in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Children and Young People.
